About Sage's Blog

I am Sage Feldemeyer, a blog character, and I'm also quite a character. Nu, I may not be real, but my opinions are. A globe trotter with magical powers, I get around. I show up when and where I want.

If I want to talk to Obamala, I receive an invitation to meet him on Air Force One.  If I want to be a navigation device for Paul Krugman, I morph into a GPS and set myself on the dashboard of his car.  When Arianna H. summons me for blogging tips, I am there in a heartbeat.

Not only do I ‘hob-knob’ with Machers, I’m also ordinary. I take my Aunt Sylvia out for matzo ball soup; I kvetch with my friends and nudge my family.

I write about every day events, relationships (all kinds), politics, current events, movies, celebrities, travel—whatever strikes my fancy.   Sometimes, I’m the expert--other times, the learner. I refer to women as gals or girls;  men as fellas, guys and boychics.  (I struggle to use the words man and woman--I'm on a learning curve)

The hats I wear--many:  I ask questions, give advice and perform Mitvahs--good deeds.  I have great affection for my blog friends—even the ones I can’t stand.

I pray to God that I won’t bore you; if I do, I’m sure you’ll let me know. Expect a point of view: neutrality, I don’t do so well; Jewish humor: I do very well.

Finally, I love Yiddish more than chocolate cake; while I am not a maven, Yiddish words and phrases always have a place in my posts.  My use, translation and spelling of Yiddish vary from literal to liberal; there’s the dictionary version and the Feldemeyer version. You’ll receive both.

A Yiddish to English glossary accompanies each post: Yiddish words are in italics.
'Yinglish' is an English word with a Yiddish add-on;  A 'no-goodnik' is someone who isn't a good person.

Enjoy my blogala.  If you like what you read or if you don’t like what you read, please invite your friends and your mishpocheh. I love company; I’ll put on a pot, and we’ll talk.
